Over the past 40 years, the Maylan Group has evolved from Sierra West Consulting Group, a consulting service company providing professional services in the financing and development of infrastructure projects to a global investment group of companies offering investors unique and attractive long-term investment opportunities in emerging Africa and Asia, the two fastest growing continents holding more than 78% of the world population.

 

Our proven track record in infrastructure development in the past four decades is testament of our expertise and commitment to our work, community, and environment.  In the years ahead, we will continue to grow and commit to these causes to carry out sustainable development and deliver long-term values to our communities and investors.

 

Stanley International Group Inc. (now Stantec Inc.) 1982 – 1995

 

In 1982, Mr. Daniel O’Hearn, the founding father of today's Maylan Group, joined Stanley International Group Inc. (now Stantec Inc.) – Vancouver, Canada, as a Senior Financial Specialist/Economist and principal of the firm to provide consulting services for institutional clients in the areas of financial analysis, loan appraisals, tariff studies, project evaluation, and institutional analyses, particularly in the water supply and wastewater sectors. 

 

Sierra West Consulting Group Inc. 1995 – 2020

 

In 1995 Mr. O’Hearn left Stanley International and cofounded Sierra West Consulting Group Inc. with his Partner Michelle Rose to provide financial, economic, and management consulting services in the development of infrastructures and urban project development for power, water supply, wastewater, and solid waste management services. Sierra West’s major clients include the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and governments in developing countries in Asia and Africa.  The company's specific areas of expertise include financial advisory services, project evaluation, privatization, tariff analysis, economic analysis, and management and institutional analysis.  From 1995 to 2020, Sierra West successfully undertook over 200 assignments in 23 countries and established a reputation with its clients for service excellence in its areas of expertise.  Our clients can rely on us for quality work that can complete on schedule and within budget.

 

Maylan Projects Development Inc. 2022 - Present

 

In 2022, Ms. Michelle Rose established the Maylan Group, an international Group of Companies, of which Maylan Projects Development is a member, to invest and undertake projects in infrastructure and resources development.  The Maylan Group evolved from its predecessor Sierra West Consulting Group Inc., to become a global investment group specialized in the development of infrastructure, energy, real estate, utilities, agriculture, and commodities supply in selected countries in Africa, Asia, and North America. 

 

The Maylan Group is led by Michelle Rose, its CEO and Founder, and Partners, who are professionals with over 300 years of combined project funding and infrastructure development experience in developing countries. Under the leadership of a strong development team and strategic partnership with prominent global capital partners, institutional lenders, and reputable EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) turnkey contractors, the Group funds and undertakes development projects in both private and government sectors, including in PPP (Public and Private Participation) projects.
