Michelle R. OHearn is the Founder, President, and CEO of Maylan Projects Development and the Maylan Group, an international group of companies established in 2022 for the purpose of investing in and undertaking infrastructure, affordable housing, agriculture, energy, and mining development projects in selected countries in Africa, Asia, and North America.  She is responsible for planning and developing the Maylan Group's strategic vision, business strategies, and corporate governance to establish new business and manage its day-to-day operations, as well as to identify and transform new investment opportunities into profitable projects and raise capital to implement them.

The Maylan Group evolved from its predecessor Sierra West Consulting Group Inc., a Canadian Company co-founded in 1995 by Mrs. OHearn and her Partner Daniel OHearn providing financial, economic, and management consulting services in infrastructure development for more than 25 years to the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and other clients in the public and private sectors.  From 1995 – 2020 Mrs. OHearn served as Co-Managing Director of Sierra West, responsible for its new business development and operations and resource management of infrastructure projects in Asia, Africa, and North America.  Sierra West has performed over 200 assignments in project finance, design, development and management, financial evaluation, loan appraisal, and economic analysis for real estate and infrastructure projects in such regions.

Mrs. OHearn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada, with hands on training and experience in project finance, development, and management for real estate and infrastructure projects and hotel marketing and management.

Director Qualifications

Executive leadership with relevant industry experience.   Mrs. OHearn has spent over 25 years funding and developing real estate and infrastructure in a variety of leadership roles, obtaining a wealth of knowledge regarding these industries and significant leadership experience.  She leads the Maylan Group with a strategic vision, team building approach, and the ability to quickly raise capital for projects from her extensive global networks of private and institutional investors, government funds, venture capital funds, and investment banks; and to effectively organize for qualified project teams and EPC (Engineering, Construction, and Procurement) Contractors to undertake large scale international projects.

Global Business Experience.  Mrs. OHearn’s multi-continental experience has provided her with a global outlook that adds value to the Maylan Group and its management team, delivering effective global business strategies that increase resources, lower cost, diversify risk, increase flexibility, and take advantage of economies of scale in the current trend of market globalization.
